FIREPROOF
PROTECTIONS
The DPR 1 August 2011 n. 151 is the Italian decree regulating Fire Prevention: it specifies certain required resistance and reaction properties for flame retardant protection as well as compliance with fire codes that is certified by the issue of a fire prevention certificate (CPI).
Furthermore the regulations identify for each construction element the respective fire resistance (REI), understood as its ability to maintain mechanical strength for a specific burning time, isolating the smoke and flames and insulating from heat.
The REI fire resistance requirement and the resultant selection of appropriate fireproof protection is a function of the fire load present and the use of the building. Structures such as public buildings, airports, railway stations, hotels, shops, parking, schools, fairs, hospitals, gyms, churches, industries and warehouses are obliged to implement measures for slowing the spread of fire.
ISOMEC is the organization enabling implementation of plaster based on perlite or vermiculite solutions, cladding with plasterboard or calcium silicate and intumescent paints.
These installations are characterised by a slow spread of flames, limiting harmful emissions, protecting the structure from the heat and, consequently, slowing or preventing collapse. In this way the protection of people and the safety of premises increases.
